This department has a small group of faculty who are actively pursuing research interests in diverse
areas in supply chain management, logistics, stochastic models, port operations, healthcare operations,  incentive mechanism design, game-theoretic modeling, service operations, wireless security,
peer-to-peer systems, data mining and knowledge discovery, machine learning, evolutionary algorithms, knowledge-based systems, fuzzy sets theory, Internet commerce, software engineering and formal methods, and integration of formal and structured/object-oriented methods. Faculty members have published their research works in prestigious academic journals such Management Science and 
Operations Research. The department research is well funded with both internal and external competitive grants. The department also offers postgraduate research programs leading to MPhil and PhD degrees in information systems management and operations management..
